This Privacy Notice describes how Servvo collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our services. Questions? Email us at [email protected].
Table of Contents
Servvo decides how and why the personal information collected through the Services is used — including account, payment, fraud-prevention, security, communications, and marketplace data — and is responsible for that information. This includes information that providers add about their own clients (such as imported contacts and client, job, invoice, and payment records), which Servvo also uses for its own purposes, including operating the platform, acting as merchant of record for payments, and preventing fraud. Providers are independently responsible for the client information they bring to Servvo, as described in our Terms of Service. Where a privacy law applies to us, we provide the rights and protections it requires, as described in Section 12.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register for the Services, express interest in obtaining information about us, participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise contact us.
The personal information we collect may include:
We do not seek or require sensitive personal information — such as government identifiers, health information, or financial-account credentials — to operate the Services.
When you make or receive payments, your card and bank details are collected and stored directly by Stripe, our payment processor. Servvo does not receive or store your full card number or security code. Servvo acts as the merchant of record for transactions processed through the Services. You may find Stripe's privacy notice at stripe.com/privacy.
We offer the option to register using existing social media accounts (Google, Apple). If you register this way, we will collect certain profile information from the social media provider as described in Section 6.
If you use our mobile app, we may collect:
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services — such as IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, and usage data. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services.
We process your personal information for the following reasons:
We share personal information only with service providers that perform functions on our behalf, and only as needed for those functions. These categories include:
We may also disclose information in connection with a business transfer or to comply with law or enforce our terms. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
When you connect with a provider — or a provider adds you as a client — that provider can see the information needed to serve you: your name and contact details, and the jobs, quotes, invoices, payment history, and messages for your relationship with that provider.
Each provider can see only their own relationship with you. If you work with more than one provider, your providers cannot see one another's jobs, invoices, history, or notes about you.
When a provider invites you to Servvo, the provider is using contact information they already have about you; Servvo does not disclose your identity or information to providers you have not connected with.
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to gather information when you interact with our Services. Some technologies help maintain security, prevent crashes, fix bugs, save preferences, and assist with basic site functions.
Our Services allow you to register and log in using third-party social media account details (Google, Apple). Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information from the provider — typically your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice.
Providers communicate directly with their own customers — including by SMS text message sent from the provider's own device or phone number — to coordinate scheduling, invoices, and services. These messages are sent by the provider, not by Servvo. Servvo does not control or send these direct communications and is not responsible for their content, timing, or delivery; any consent for them is a matter between the provider and the customer.
When you sign up and provide your phone number and email address, you may receive emails, SMS messages, push notifications, and phone calls from us — such as service invitations, account alerts, and service updates. Message and data rates may apply to SMS messages, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
You can opt out of Servvo's SMS messages at any time, in any reasonable manner, including by replying STOP to any message; we will honor your request within 10 business days. Reply HELP or email [email protected] for assistance. You can manage push notifications in your device settings.
We do not share your mobile phone number or email with third parties for marketing purposes.
We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this notice, including to provide the Services and to comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except for limited records we are required or permitted to retain:
When we no longer have a legal or legitimate business need to retain your information, we delete or anonymize it.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 years old. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under age 18, please contact us at [email protected].
You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time. To update your account information, log into the Servvo app and edit your profile in the Account or Settings section. To terminate your account, use the in-app deletion flow: Settings → Account → Delete Account.
If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, email us at [email protected].
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of the personal information we maintain about you, and to opt out of certain processing. States with comprehensive privacy laws that may apply include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, among others.
To exercise a right, email [email protected] or use the in-app deletion flow (Settings → Account → Delete Account). We will respond within the time your state's law requires (generally 45 days). If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing [email protected]; we will respond within 60 days, and if we deny the appeal we will provide a way to contact your state Attorney General.
Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We may notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or by sending you an email.
